Dane is one of New Zealand's leading Sports Dietitians and has also worked extensively in clinical and public health nutrition. He has successfully advised clients on a range of nutritional concerns as part of his own private practise and alongside one of New Zealand's world leading Sports Dietitians Jeni Pearce.
Dane returned to New Zealand in 2009 after working in Doha (Qatar), where he consulted at ASPETAR, a world leading Fifa sports medicine facility, consulting international football players and elite olympic athletes.
Dane is currently the nutritionist for the Chiefs super 15 rugby franchise and the Counties Manukau rugby union.
He also consults for the New Zealand Academy of Sport where he is the lead nutritionist for Swimming NZ, NZ Mens Hockey, the football Fernz and is a nutrition consultant for Auckland cricket.
As well as sports nutrition, Dane has always had a strong passion for diabetes. He consulted as a Diabetes Dietitian at Waitakere Hospital where he improved blood sugar levels in those with diabetes and help to reduce their co-morbidities such as high blood pressure and cholesterol. He recently worked in Diabetes prevention as
coordinator for the workplace program at the Diabetes Projects Trust.
Dane also designed and implemented the first full time nutrition component for the active families program run by Sport Auckland. The program focused on improving the health and well being of inactive and overweight children throughout Auckland. This successful program was then introduced in both the South and West Auckland.
Dane regularly presents seminars to leading sports teams and organisations and was the nutrition representitive on Powerade's expert panel for the "Connecting Coaches Program".
